Wellbeing
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s social, emotional, and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- teachers who genuinely care for students- our school is like a big family!
- access to our school counsellor/school psychologist
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students if required
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Life Skills Go
Students at Towamba are very adept at checking in each day using an integrated wellbeing app called Life Skills Go. Students check in each day with how they are feeling, and become familiar with identifying their emotions and readiness to learn. This process enables staff to monitor students generally, and follow up with students individually if required.
